Guardrail Privacy Policy

At Guardrail, we believe that your financial data is one of the most personal forms of information you own. Our app is built from the ground up to ensure that your transaction history remains private, secure, and entirely under your control.

                The Guardrail Promise: We do not have servers. We do not store your data in the cloud. We do not sell your information. Everything stays on your iPhone.
            

1. Data Access via FinanceKit

With your explicit consent, Guardrail utilizes Apple’s FinanceKit API to access transaction data from Apple Card, Apple Cash, and participating financial institutions. We use this data strictly for:

Calculating real-time spending totals against your set limits.
Displaying recent transaction history within the app dashboard.
Triggering local system notifications when budget thresholds are reached.

2. On-Device Processing

All financial analysis and budget calculations are performed locally on your device using the Apple Neural Engine. Guardrail does not transmit your transaction details, merchant names, or spending habits to any external servers or third-party services.

3. No Third-Party Sharing

We do not share, lease, or sell your data to advertisers, data brokers, or third-party AI model providers. Guardrail does not include third-party tracking SDKs or advertising identifiers (IDFA).

4. Data Retention

Guardrail does not maintain a permanent database of your transactions. If you delete the Guardrail app, all locally processed financial summaries are immediately and permanently erased from your device's sandbox storage.
